So, you should be careful on the emails you get and the request the email sender has made. You should check the name and mail of the sender and judge if its real or fake.

You must change your account passwords in a fixed period of time. This will help you a lot if someone has your old Password. This will make you sure that you are secure from the person as you have already changed the password.
#9 Don't use Similar Passwords on All
Never use the same password for all of your sites. For example, Don't keep the same password for your twitter account as well the facebook account. If you have the same password, someone phishing your facebook password can destroy you twitter as well.
